Great thoughts- reinforcing everything I have been learning and thinking. For 20 years I have been able to make a good living without really engaging potential clients at a truly relational level, because they were everywhere. My friendships and business relationships were largely separate parts of my life. Suddenly, all of that has changed, and the irony (though not really surprising) is that I am getting more out of connecting and building new relationships than just potential future business. The relationships have high value in and of themselves, in fact they are where the true wealth lies. Additionally, the new relationships stimulate my mind and my creativity: a true win-win endeavor. I only hope that when I give myself away, I am adding as much value to the lives of others as they are to mine!
