How many times do you fail before success?
Thomas Edison, when asked how he felt failing over 2,000 times before inventing the light bulb, said, “I never failed. I discovered success, in this case, was a 2,000-step process.” Palm trees are the only tree left standing at the coast when torrential storms hit…they’re designed to bend and withstand storms.
I believe wholeheartedly that the single biggest factor that will dramatically impact and radically change your future is your perspective of your journey, including what seems like failures, speed bumps and misfires.
Here’s a suggestion for a great gift to give yourself today to start 2009: Suspend judgment you’ve put on yourself and your experiences, and definitions/labels you’ve allowed to be put on you or your business. Allow yourself the gift of seeing YOU differently beginning today. Others will always want to define you, either by the successes or the failures they’ve seen you experience…if you let them, you’ll allow them to limit your potential and the gifts inside you that are designed to solve someone’s problems. You’ve got too much beating inside you, and maybe it’s time to let it come out.
